Job Description

INFICON is seeking a driven law student to join our legal department for a paid internship. The internship would begin in Summer 2025, but other arrangements could be discussed. The internship will be primarily located on-site, in our East Syracuse facility.

This internship will primarily be focused on the small, but world-wide-supporting, legal department, with an opportunity to explore and gain experience in the areas of finance and human resources, as well, to create a well-rounded “in-house” legal experience. This position will jointly report to INFICON’s General Counsel

This internship requires a driven and responsible team player who can think creatively while keeping business objectives in focus. This is a rare opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a challenging legal field that is highly transferable to more traditional law-firm practice, and a great foundation for an aspiring corporate attorney. Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct legal research on related topics and prepare training materials for non-lawyers;
  • Assist with the review and drafting of contract documents, such as, non-disclosure agreements, software licenses, end user statements, and supplier agreements;
  • Assist in digital organization of current contract documents, as well as catalogue certain provisions found within said documents;
  • Liaison with outside counsel;
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Relevant Practice Areas: Contracting – Design and Manufacturing (Commercial and Government); Software and IP licensing; IP protection, Trademark and patent portfolio management; International Business; Export Control, including EAR restricted materials; Corporate Governance; Corporate Litigation

Qualifications

Minimum Rising 2L JD Student;

Strong interest in corporate/generalist legal practice areas;

Interest in technology and how things work;

Creative thinker with strong writing skills;

Ability to communicate legal ideas to non-lawyers.

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $20.00-$34.00 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
