Job Description

​​A Semiconductor Application Engineer II at INFICON is responsible for assisting with advanced applications related to INFICON sensors and software. They offer technical assistance to both field staff and customers, ensuring the correct deployment and support of INFICON products. Individuals at this level possess a deep understanding of the market's processes and challenges that the company's products address. This position requires individuals to work autonomously and be capable of independently devising and implementing solutions to issues with minimal supervision.​ 

Our ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, experience in semiconductor manufacturing, and is able to manage and participate in programs/projects supporting INFICON customers.

Willingness to learn our industry, work with fellow team members and with clients, and adapt to changes is required.

Responsibilities

  • Represent INFICON to your clients both on site and in frequent remote calls.
  • Delivering technical sustaining and troubleshooting assistance for the existing INFICON product installations at customer sites. This involves conducting essential data analysis concerning sensors and FabGuard software, as well as effectively triaging issues with He Leak Detectors. Assist in troubleshooting Factory Productivity Software. 
  • Possessing good technical troubleshooting skills, foundational customer management abilities, and an understanding to determine when to escalate issues for obtaining relevant support from the factory. Good data analytical skills 
  • Effectively interface with broad range of client stakeholders including operators, process engineers, industrial engineers, Fab managers, IT, and executives.
  • Support INFICON Sensors, FabGuard SW and Leak Detectors demonstrations at customer site. 
  • Create and provides basic training to end users.
  • Fundamental understanding of semiconductor processes, Mass Spectrometry, Optical & RF Sensors, and leak detection principles, as well as basic proficiency in Windows and Networking concepts. 
  • Work with KAM, FabGuard TEAM and Client team members to understand requirements and achieve project objectives.
  • Facilitate clear communication within teams to articulate client requirements and needs, and work through development projects to ensure their successful completion. 
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, good communication, and project management skills 

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • 3-5+ years experience in semiconductor manufacturing company
  • Bachelors degree in an Engineering degree disciplined highly preferred 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer facing skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Effective communication skills and comfortable presenting to groups
  • PowerPoint and presentation generation skills
  • Self-starter with strong self-management
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects at the same time

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with RGA's, leak detectors, RF Sensors, and semiconductor process/equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of FDC software is a plus.
  • Experience with vacuum and semiconductor equipment/process technology
  • Experience managing projects

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $70K and $115k per year with commission opportunities. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 5%.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
