Board of Directors Names Peter Maier to Lead Intelligent Sensor Solutions Business Unit

Maier to Continue As CFO Until Successor Appointed

SYRACUSE, N.Y. & ZURICH, Switzerland, Dec 18, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- INFICON Holding AG (SWX Swiss Exchange: IFCN) today announced the appointment of Peter Maier as President of its Intelligent Sensor Solutions business unit as well as of its Syracuse, NY location and plant. The plant provides advanced, in situ sensor technologies, process control software for the semiconductor and related markets, and instruments for emergency response and security markets. Peter Maier will succeed Daniel E Hoffman, who will be leaving INFICON. Mr. Maier will continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer of INFICON while the search for a new CFO is conducted.

 

Peter Maier has been CFO of INFICON since 2000. From 1998 to 2000 he served as Vice President of Finance for Leybold Inficon and Controller for the Instrumentation Division of Unaxis, and from 1996 to 1998 he served as Director of Information Systems for the Instrumentation Division of Unaxis. Prior to joining INFICON, from 1994 to 1996, Mr. Maier was project manager and consultant for enterprise application integration at Deloitte Consulting. From 1992 to 1994, he served as Controller for Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG in Germany. Mr. Maier holds a Masters degree in business administration and engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany.
