Please note that the work location is Mariehamn (Åland, Finland) and good communication skills in English both verbally and in writing are required. Knowledge of Swedish is beneficial since everyone at INFICON Aaland speaks Swedish.

We are looking for a person who wants to work with exciting technology and to have a challenging work with qualified manufacturing processes. Our products undergo many complex and self-developed process steps in vacuum and at high temperatures. Our responsibility extends from raw materials to finished vacuum sensors

Your Role

As a Thin Film Coating Specialist, you will build up our in-house Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating capabilities. Further material development and process control are also a part of your daily work. Additionally, your responsibilities will include our Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an in-house PVD coating process
  • Oversee and enhance existing ALD processes
  • Characterization of coating quality
  • Collaboration with colleagues and suppliers to optimize deposition techniques
  • Conduct further research and development on coatings

Qualifications

  • A degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or a related field
  • Experience in PVD and/or ALD processes
  • Understanding of thin film deposition techniques and equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details
  • Practical and solution oriented
  • Structured and self-motivated with the ability to drive and coordinate improvement initiatives from start to finish
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
