DeLuca Named President for INFICON Asia Operations

INFICON announced the appointment of Stephan DeLuca, Ph.D. to the position of President, Asia Operations. Dr. DeLuca was manager of the Portable Instrumentation Business Unit of the company since its inception in 1993. His responsibilities emphasize strategic development and future investment that will further intensify the INFICON presence in Asia.

In naming Dr. DeLuca to this newly created position, James L. Brissenden, INFICON President and CEO said, "Because the Asia market is of great importance to the sustained growth of INFICON, Steve will focus on strengthening our resources and market access in INFICON Asia sales and service offices."

INFICON is well-established in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. Dr. Deluca is currently located in Taipei where he serves as President of the INFICON company in Taiwan.

Dr. DeLuca joined INFICON (formerly Leybold Inficon) in 1991 as Product Manager for its largest group of analytical instruments sold to the semiconductor market, after providing two years of consulting services for applications development. Prior to his tenure with Leybold Inficon, he was on the faculty of the Colorado School of Mines and worked as an Applications Scientist developing mass spectrometry products. For two years, he served as Director of New Product Development for Somatogen, a biotechnology company.

Dr. DeLuca holds an MBA from Syracuse University, a Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry from the Colorado School of Mines, an MS in Geochemistry, and a BA in chemistry from the University of California at San Diego.
