INFICON Names Stephan DeLuca Vice President and Worldwide Sales Manager
Syracuse, NY - 5 September 2002: INFICON today announced the appointment of Stephan DeLuca, Ph.D., to the position of Vice President and Worldwide Sales Manager. Dr. DeLuca will be based at the company's global headquarters in Syracuse, New York and will be responsible for optimally aligning INFICON worldwide sales resources in support of strategic objectives.
Since May 2000, Dr. Deluca has served as President of INFICON Asian Operations. He joined INFICON (formerly Leybold Inficon) in 1991 as Product Manager for in situ analysis instruments sold to the semiconductor market. In 1993, Dr. DeLuca was responsible for the start up of the Environmental Health and Safety Business Unit of the company. A highly successful product, HAPSITE portable analyzer used in national security and emergency response markets, resulted from this business. Prior to his tenure with Leybold Inficon, he was on the faculty of the Colorado School of Mines and worked as an Applications Scientist developing mass spectrometry products. Dr. DeLuca holds an MBA from Syracuse University, a Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry and an MS in Geochemistry from the Colorado School of Mines, and a BA in chemistry from the University of California at San Diego.
