INFICON Receives Two Prestigious Awards
Semiconductor International 2007 Editors' Choice Best Product Award and R&D 100 Award from Research & Development Magazine

It has also been honored once again with an R&D 100 Award – this year for its HAPSITE® Viper Chemical Identification System – presented annually by R&D Magazine to recognize the 100 most technologically significant new products and processes of the year.
The Editors' Choice Best Product Awards is an annual program hosted by SI to identify products that reflect the level of excellence needed to succeed in today’s semiconductor industry. The award acclaimed INFICON FabGuard FDC for its innovative on-line fault detection and classification (FDC) capabilities, which allow fab engineers to readily analyze virtually any aspect of process and equipment behavior to improve processes and yields. Under SI’s program, nominated products are ranked according to customer evaluations, with the winners chosen based on their superiority in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
The R&D 100 Award recognized the INFICON HAPSITE Viper Chemical Identification System, the only vehicle-integrated gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer that can be easily dismounted from the vehicle for person-portable mission reconnaissance. HAPSITE Viper collects a sample using a proprietary infrared probe to quickly screen for trace amounts of chemical contamination and within minutes delivers analysis of chemical warfare agents in the field for life-saving decisions. The R&D 100 Award is judged by a panel of experts selected by the leading trade publication.
