Tatsuhiko Nagai Named President of INFICON Japan

Syracuse, New York/Zurich, Switzerland - June 18, 2002 - INFICON Holding AG (SWX Swiss Exchange and NASDAQ: IFCN), a leading manufacturer of vacuum instrumentation and critical sensor technologies for the semiconductor and related industries and other industrial applications, today announced that Tatsuhiko Nagai has been named president of INFICON Japan.

In his new role, Mr. Nagai will lead the INFICON Japan office in its sales, service and technical support efforts. In addition, he will be responsible for developing relationships with key customers and managing cross-border projects.

Mr. Nagai has held a series of increasingly responsible positions, including most recently, Managing Director of GSI Lumonics Japan Inc. In 1989, Mr. Nagai began an 11-year career with Applied Materials Japan Inc., joining the sales and service planning office. While with Applied Materials Japan, he held the positions of Senior Director of the Installed Base Support Service Business Group as well as Director of Corporate Marketing. Prior to that, Mr. Nagai worked in systems engineering and sales management at IBM Japan Ltd. for 18 years.
